The challenge
Located in the heart of Vienna, Grand Hotel Wien transformed a former guest suite into a luxury day spa designed to appeal to both hotel guests and the wider Viennese wellness market. The challenge was to create a distinct identity for the new spa while maintaining a clear connection to the heritage and reputation of one of the city’s most prestigious hotels.
The identity needed to feel premium, contemporary and refined, capable of extending beyond the physical space into guest amenities, treatment products and retail opportunities.

The approach
A bespoke identity was created around a simple and elegant logotype, designed to reflect the understated luxury of both the spa and its parent hotel. The typography became the foundation of a wider identity system, providing consistency across signage, wayfinding, packaging and guest communications.
The identity was intentionally restrained, allowing materials, finishes and the guest experience itself to take centre stage. This approach created a sophisticated framework that could be applied seamlessly throughout the spa environment while reinforcing a sense of quality and exclusivity.
Packaging design became a natural extension of the identity system, with a collection of white-label wellness products developed for both treatment use and retail sale. The result connected the spa experience with tangible products that guests could continue to enjoy long after their visit.

The outcome
The brand was successfully implemented across the spa environment, creating a cohesive guest experience from arrival and wayfinding through to treatments, amenities and retail products.
A range of branded skincare, wellness and aromatherapy products strengthened the connection between the spa and the hotel, serving a dual purpose as both treatment products and in-room guest amenities. This created additional opportunities for brand recognition, product sales and guest engagement while reinforcing the spa’s premium positioning.
By bringing together visual identity, environmental graphics and packaging within a single design system, the project created a distinctive wellness brand that complemented the heritage of Grand Hotel Wien while establishing No.605 Grand Spa as a destination in its own right.
